I replaced thermostat [ten minute job ]and had the Cat removed,
Car now heats to 85 deg straight up and breathes sooooo much better.
Bonus is a big improvement in note as well:)

its great to be able to do this work yourself :thumbs:

Mmmm, but how does that CAT removal effect the emmisions test come MOT time?

My mate had this done on his SAXO and everytime he had an MOT he had the inconvenience of refitting the CAT to pass emissions tests, ball acher...........

About an hours work once a year.. Not really enough to be a ball ache in my book.

Just put the cat back in mine, got about 6 weeks before the old MOT expires. It actually sounds better with the cat in, but I have an unsilenced centre section and SuperSprint rear box, I think if the car had a small centre silencer or a silenced decat pipe it would sound better.

there is talk of emmisions testing to come but keeps being defferred.
I had a small resonator put back in to prevent drumming

I think I might get another decat pipe made up, with a little silencer in it instead of straight through. Or would that defeat the point of the decat anyway?
