Cup numbers -- We will soon now how

Hello All
1st of all-- i have absolute proof the new cup i have is 112 and it is most certainly not a fake as i have spoken to the only other owner who purchased it from new with the number 112 on the dash plaque and assures me it is all genuine
further more this number IS on the v5
as is my neighbours cup which clearly shows cup number 63 on th v5:lol:

I am waiting conformation on which number represents the cup number on the V5
i am told this is the way the numbers were given to the cups and it is on the v5
just a case of working it out
Soon as i am sure this is true i will expose it to all of you
regards
ken

it'll be interesting to know how to work the number out. If both Liquid6's old cup and Ken's have 33 in the V5 then it must just be a typo when first registered.

Wouldn't the easiest way be to PM the info you have to other Cup owners and see if it works on their vin/ engine numbers......then the mystery would be solved......

Who's giving the info?

I was only joking re 112 being a possible fake.;)

Who is telling you this about the number being 'hidden' somewhere on the V5 please?

Clive

Was thinking the same Clive......if wallack PM'd other cup owners they could check their V5's and see if it was hidden in the vin/engine number.......but why would it be hidden????

Apparently it's got nothing to do with the 33 printed after 'Version' on the V5.

We went through this before on the thread 'If I own cup 33'.

Clive
that's what I thought too but Ken has posted that both his cup and his neighbour's show the correct number on the V5.

it's probably the chassis number divided by the engine number multiplied by 64

Cup Numbers- wow what a response

Hi All
The guy thats feeding me this info is good for the truth-
he worked for Alfa and has inside info and thats all i can say at the moment
He is going through lots of info on cups as we speak and will not reveal to me untill he is happy he has the answer-( so we could still never know for sure--lets see)

It is not the engine or chassis number or any combinations from these

It is elsewhere on the V5 and its not the version as Clive rightly says they all have 33
and yes i am hoping to get every cup owner to confirm the findings

As i said i will not give up on this number issue just because i have p/ex my old cup makes no differance-
I still want to know how to work this number thing out and there must be an answer

I do not believe for one minute that they were just random numbers given out by Pinninfarina to each car as it was made

There had to be a way of numbering the cups as they did make 150 or so and they would not have all been at Pininfarina at the same time -so random numbers would have been open to human error on a large scale -dont you think-

If they had not followed some sort of number system and the easy way would be to use the reg doc-makes sense-lets see if its true-

Alfa Romeo customer relations have helped me and actually spoken to Pinninfarina who no longer have records of Cup numbers- but we are not sure any records where ever created as if it came from the registration doc then that IS the record

Everywhere and everybody i spoke to tryed to help me but nothing in concreet ever came out of it all so i am hoping this info will once and forall close the case and put to bed an ongoing mystery- so once again thanks to everyone
WATCH THIS SPACE -----I will not rush the guy -i will wait for the answer
Regards
ken

oh yes the numberless cup. i thought the outcome was that it's defo a cup but fake plaque. it would have driven me mad too though.

So fake plaque and fake wheels now then :D
Just catching up on this. Anyone who knows what they are doing wont go near this poor Cup now. Unless it's very cheap of course. Needs very hard to find, very expensive Teledials and the number sorting.

I wouldn't trust DVLA to get anything right let alone 155 limited edition numbers. Also I think to rely on registering the Cup number only on the V5 would not have happened.
