Whats the best oil for a 156 JTS?
My Alfa dealer uses Castrol 10 / 50 Synthetic.
But I think I should be using Selenia 10 / 60 Synthetic.
Whats the difference and what oil is better?
I think The Alfa service center I go to may be using cheap oil to save bucks and Selenia is not cheap in Australia.

Really need to Know the Manufacturer and spec thats on the can, Kutter, Selenia is expensive over here, good oil, but cheaper spec ones are available. Always use the recommended 10/40 in the wife's 2.0 Litre 147, not necessarily Selenia though. The mileage Guys out there are better able to advise than me, longevity on the engine front!

Any 10w60 Full Synthetic will be fine.

Castrol have several over here:
The old range:
Castrol RS 10w60 and Castrol TWS 10w60

The new range:
Castrol Edge Sport 10w60 and Castrol Edge 10w60

The ones in bold are the better versions.

the JTS is only spec'd with 10w60, the TS is spec'd with both 10w40 semi and 10w60 full synthetic

I can't find any details of a Castrol 10w50, even on the Castrol Australia website.

Right now i'm using Mobil 1 10W-40 in my 02' 147 and wondering if there's any better?

I don't care about price but want the best oil possible.

Any recommendations? Is Selenia really better than everything else?

Also, what about Castrol Edge 0W-40, how would that go with my 147?

If you check the Castrol Aus website, they spec 10w60 for the 2.0TS.

I use a 5w-40 fully synthetic in mine. Usually Shell Helix ultra or Havoline synthetic.

Well in mine i always use Selenia,it seems to make it run quieter than when i tried Castrol,it is expensive but mine doesnt hardly use oil,if it did as much as some do then i would use a cheaper one.

sorry about changing the subject slightly but

what would be the best choice for the 2.5 V6?

any pointers will be greatly welcomed

The std spec is 10w40 Semi Synthetic, but you have the option of 10w60 Full Synthetic too.

In VERY cold climates there is also the option of thinner oil, but the UK isn't that cold, not even in the West Midlands!
