Hi all. I've bought an ex Targa winning (6x) 83 Sud. My plans are (were) to race it in the State Hill Climb Series here in Tasmania Australia. Anyway I removed about 80kg, Sync'd the 44mm IDF Webers, changed the Oil (Penrite) and Plugs (Torque Masters), had a new Muffler (Lukey) fitted as the old one had a crack. Tidied up the inside and gave it a bit of Polish.
Went to my first Meet with the Sud expecting to do quite well as I new the car before I purchased it. First competitive run it jumped Timing (5200rpm) and destroyed itself! So totally depressed as that was my entire season over and out after just 1000m. Anyway I still clocked FTD for Italian Cars in just one run. Have resurrected last season's Malaysian car, and plan to run that while I save some money to fix/replace the Sud 1598cc engine. Runs an Quaife C/R Dog Box & LSD with 33 Outboard Brakes. 14" wheels with Yokohoma Semi's.
