Hi,

For those of you who have a 147 with a factory fitted sunroof. I have had a problem with getting a very wet drivers footwell when it rained, this would only happen intermittently. I tried all sorts of investigation methods believing it was leaves blocking the drain around the bulk head of the engine bay, but to no avail.

Further investigation and much dismantling of the car I discovered it was the left hand drain hole in the sunroof, the rubber tube which took the rain water down to the main drain hole in the engine bay was blocked, forcing the water into the roof and down the door seal onto the floor in the footwell. I unblocked it by holding my pressure washing down the pipe.

Problem sorted, just thought I would let you all know for any future issues with F/F sunroofs.

Great you found the cause, be careful though you can "blow" the drain pipe off with too much pressure, it is a pita to refit. At the end of the bulkhead drain Alfa in their infinite wisdom fit a constrictor , with age it hardens and blocks the whole shebang, take them off and bin them. Mine is still running like that 7 + years down the line with no issues.

Do you have a picture of where this constrictor is?

Sorry I don't have the car any more  With the bonnet open it is the black plastic scuttle the windscreen wipers fit through. The drains are under there . If memory serves the two drains come down left / right side , on the end of each of the black pipes are the constrictors.
Good Luck

just done mine, took the constrictor off the end and threw it away. got some 3core cable and pushed that down through the hole in the sunroof and loads of black crud came out from the drain hole under the scuttle plastic trim.
getting the interior back was a pain in the bum, but it's done now.
