My premium is due 23/12.

My renewal was £429.

My best quote is £375 with AF.

I had a fault accident last Xmas which is going to affect my premium this year, it was my first accident since July 1995.

Anyone suggest companies I can try to try and get this premium down?

do you think £375 is alot of money? I would love to have insurance that cheap.

I am £450, 3rd party F&T only, pass plus, 22, 4 years no claims on my cloverleaf.

With respect I'm 11 years older than you and was paying £284 last year. I have had just 2 accidents in 16 years of driving, so I am a little resentful of such a hike, rightly or wrongly.

Have you considered Chris Knott Insurance they specialise in AROC but I'm sure they could do you a deal..worth a punt. They also promise to beat other quotes (but I dont know if that is for AROC members only) They are on the wicky wicky wild web....

I did mine online with Endsleigh, if you can its worth trying different variations on your occupation. The difference between 'Electronics engineer' , Telecommunications Engineer' and 'Broadcast Engineer' was spread over £50 on a £200 policy, I guess that they think you are going to give a lift to a rock star if you are a Broadcast Engineer, why? I drive a works van and have never been anywhere near a broadcast studio! As I work on transmitters I class myself as an Electronics engineer and I don't think they could argue with that.
Funny how my mate with 9 points who worked in the insurance industry and was 10 years younger than me could insure his integrale cheaper than me with a clean record!
Insurance companies are the biggest crooks around!

Chris Knott promised 10% off the best quote for me. They've done it for me and it's by far the cheapest quote and about £140 cheaper than my renewal.

I shall try Endsleigh next week and enter my occupation as a Librarian.
Probably will think you will overload your car with books so increase the premium.

A few years ago I had a neighbour who was pulled over at the local weighbridge near Faversham and done for overloading his Cortina estate whilst delivering Yellow Pages!

In all honesty I think you have to change insurance broker every year to get the best quote for 'normal' insurance. Though my Fulvias have been insured on a classic policy by AON for years and they have always been reasonable.

I have just been quoted £267 fully comp with £200 excess for a 166ts by esure(43yrs old clean licence, full no claims).Have a look on moneysupermarket.com.I agree with doveralfa, look around everytime you renew your insurance(there is no loyalty staying with the same insurance company nowadays)I was with the same brokers for 18 years, insuring both cars and bikes, stupidly thinking they were looking after me but three years ago I went online for a quote(for [email protected] and giggles, but the joke was on me!!!)and found I could get the same cover £220 cheaper. When I questioned my broker about the difference they came back with the response "we can beat that",to which I responded, why didn't you quote me lower in the first place.Needless to say I swiftly insured my vehicles elsewhere from that day.Good luck with the search.

The cheapest I could get was £361, I've now sent the quote to CK and am waiting for a response.
