Hi guys,

As the title suggests, my subwoofer buzzes when i turn the ignition.
This is a self fit between a JVC KW-AVX730 and a Clarion SRV313 active sub. I've followed the same wiring as how it was fitted in the car i removed it from, and it works fine and can be controlled from the subs remote and the headunit.
Just this rotten loud buzzy fart when i start the car.

Have i made a nause somewhere, or could the earth not be right? I'm afraid i'm stumped.

cheers!

Yeah, just ensure the Clarion's groundwire is to a solid chassis position, bare metal.

However, a common cause of buzz is a faulty/damaged RCA cable.

Cheers Shiny - i'll give it a look, but i'm sure everything is ok with the connectors. Must be the earth, although i've earthed it with my headunits dvd/handbreak detector cable (to an earthing point), and the hu is ok.

So, i've re-terminated the earth lead on the sub, and tried it at a couple of locations. Its currently plumbed in under one of the seat floor bolts. Anyway, long and short, same problem wherever i put it.

Try a new RCA cable next.
