So far this has been intermittent, but no more. Still seems minor though. It's a bit hard to get it into 4th (5-speed) and harder still to get out of fourth. Other gears are fine, no grinding, vibration, or anything, and the stick centers fine when out of gear. Think just lubing will do the trick? What needs to come off for access?

The selectors inside the gearbox have little balls that acts as locators (to keep the gear selected) those balls can come out a bit and lodge between selectors of bite a bit

I once lost up/down movement going from 4th to 5th and got stuck in neutral - left - right movement was still ok

There is a common issue of swarf build-up restricting movement of the selectors, eventually causing 4th gear to either jump out of selection or block selection in the first place. Many threads about it - but its an easy fix, simply unbolt the endplate of the gearbox, clean it out and re-assemble.

Thanks, I'll try it.
