just noticed tonight that the steeing wheel has a slight wobble at speeds of 30/40mph,this does not happen under braking or higher or lower speeds.
could it just be the front tyres need balancing or is it suspension related.
Any help or advise would be great, car is 147 2.0 2001 with 26K

Most likely the wheels could do with balancing.

You could cheat and try a front to back swap first as poor balance doesn't matter so much on the back.

Prob just needs balancing, however it could be down to warped discs as well!.........erm also check your wheel nuts to just be on the safe side!

Not discs if the problem occurs without braking. Its either front wheel balance or a duff damper. Assuming the wheels area alloys, the balance weights most likely are the sefl-adhesive sort. They do come off. Or even a light kerb scrape will sometimes flick off the claw-type.
Some (crappy) tyres will insist on wearing out-of-round which can give a wheel wobble when the balancing machine says they're perfectly in balance.
