Since I bought my Alfa G back in August the Start&Stop function has never worked. I asked the dealership about this and they said the usual about the engine being at optimum temperature and the climate control interfering. I tried turning everything off including the climate control and the radio however still nothing, but as it was something I've never had it I didn't miss it so didn't pursue it any further. Then a couple of days ago I had my G remapped, and ever since then the engine management light keeps coming up with a 'Check Engine' message and the Start&Stop disabled icon. Is it just the Start&Stop playing up or might it be something bigger? And if it is just the Start&Stop why is that the engine just realising now after 9 months that there's a fault?

Quite normal for S/S to be disabled with any engine management issues. DNA is normally disabled too.

I think you have bigger problems.
