Are SQUIBS part of a new airbag?

And if i renew the airbag along with having my airbag ecu reset, does this resolve my problem of a deployed airbag?

Any help would be much appreciated.

A "Squib" is a small explosive charge.
They are in each airbag and the seatbelt pre-tensioners.

If you fit a new airbag, yes that will resolve the issue of a deployed airbag...

If the impact was severe enough to trigger the airbag, it is not possible to reset the ECU. You have to replace it.

Airbagreset.com claim they can be reset and reused?

Do they really? Well it can't be done with Alfa diagnostic equipment (examiner) if the airbags were actually triggered by an impact, only if the pretensioners were triggered by a smaller impact (2-stage system).
The air bag system is a potentially life saving device, so the question is do you really want to re-use such a sensitive device, knowing it has been subjected to a significant impact? Would you trust it to work again?

I don't mind buying new components, but if it can be reset and allow the sytem to work again I would like to take that route for cost.

The airbag system self checks itself every time the ignition is switched on, so would know immediately if has worked or not??
