..........at The Scottish Italian Car Day at Hopetoun house today! The best model turn out of the day after the GTV.

3 x pre-facelift Supers, 1 x pre-facelift 2.5 (your trulys) and 2 x facelifts (1 a T-spark and the other was Roys recently aquired 3.0l auto Ti).

A guy from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club informed me that 166s were as common as muck.:)

Great day again with good weather, nice people and lots of interesting motors. A stunning yellow Integrale won the best car prize - it looked like new.

And only my one had a clean engine bay! ;)

I have admired your motor Scott, it does look stunning with the body-kit!

You also forgot to mention mint 164s that turned up!

Yep, your engine looked stunning! I never got the chance to catch up with you for an introduction and a chat! These days always pass so quick.

Can't believe you have it for sale after all that hard work. The car was looking fantastic. Your car and the Minerva Green Super had 'For sale' signs on them and Roy was thinking of putting a for sale sign on his facelift Ti too. It seems 166s are always for sale.

What 164s???? (only joking - they were very nice)! :) It's just lucky Enricos immaculate 164 CL is in the garage getting an extensive refurb done otherwise you'd have been throwing money at him to drive it back up to Aberdeen. It is one stunning 164 that guy has.

It was a good show today. Had to leave early so sorry I didn't catch you for a chat though - always next time.

I did speak to the chap with the Integrale and he said that it was his third car which he only really wheels out for events and the odd run - keeps it garaged and spends a LOT of time on it. Plus, he just had his wheels powder-coated and some panels sprayed!

Best bit for me was following the Lambo Aventador out of the grounds and up main road whilst seeing so many people inc. kids and marshalls taking photo's of it and listening to that sound

Could get nowhere near it opened up though! :wow:

Well i dont really want to sell it, that 166 apart from the bumper and the bonnet is in really good condition. I didnt advertise the car anywhere yet. There was one gentleman interested in it dont know if he is on here?
The only thing is i wont be able to use 164 till i sell 166. My wife still does not know i have bought 164! I might still keep it if my fiat coupe sells first.

Enrico will never sell that - He bought it new at £32k from memory and has cherished it since.

The yellow integrale - Did it have an EVO reg?

Yep, C10 EVO if memory serves me right. I was absolutely in awe of that car and it brought back memories of me test driving a Madras Blue one in Edinburgh a good few years back but deciding instead to buy a 3 year old Fiat Coupe 20VT instead as the Evo was an L reg and I wanted a newer car. Still regret not having the balls to go for it.

You should have came along Doog, no GTAs present on the day which was very surprising. John from JM was there but he had his new Merc AMG with him. Have you sold your other GTA yet?

It's very nice. 120k miles I think but doesn't look it except for a bust front foglamp. Bodywork is in good condition and it has new Pirellis all round. He has his eye on a GTA again so said he would sell it but I'm not sure how much he is looking for. You could PM him if you were interested.

The integrale is local to me - I used to drive Lancia's before they departed these shores and spent plenty of time tinkering with betas and deltas with the owner Rab. My brother owned a couple of integrales, I had a couple of fiat coupe 20vt's - maintenance between these is something else!

I was going to head to that day but was not long back from holiday, had a busy weeekend and a deal on the GTA was done awaiting pick up so no advertising bonus to be made. Not sure if Roy will ever get a GTA - I have had enthusiastic contact with him before onnly for it all to go cold, I have sold two good cheap ones recently that are local enough to him and he did not even come for a look!
