Don't mean to sound flippant, but mine does this when it's catching the edge of the blasted floor mat. Really annoying!
By the way, is your clutch very heavy? I went to inspect a V6 GTV for the first time recently and was taken aback by the weight and feel of the pedal - required real beef and felt as though it was fighting back!

a mechanic in the family changed the slave cylinder, made no difference, he referred to an non alfa clutch and gearbox specialist who has said that he's 99% sure its the flywheel, they change the clutch at the same time
the flywheel is a dealer only part at about £400+vat, total he wants is £850+ vat for the lot full clutch and flywheel

My God, you've dampened my enthusiasm for the v6 suddenly! How about the pedal weight on yours?

Did the garage give a reason for it being the flywheel and why would that click?

Is the click there with the engine running and'or with it stopped?

I'm puzzled too, 'clicking' seems most likely to be a problem developing in the pressure plate or the operating mechanism - but I'm not familiar with the flywheel. Why should a V6 need a dual mass flywheel, ain't it smoothe enough already?

My thoughts too wrenched. Twin contra-rotating balance shafts for me, DMF's for the Big Ones, smooth engines, from one end or the other, but Ouch! the wallet.

AHH Wrenched, you are missing the point....it's another opportunity for breakdown, car in garage and plenty of money spent. You know a typical GTV experience!

Are you sure you need the flywheel done? Take it to a local independant specialist. My clutch is very heavy, and I sometimes get the "click" feeling - been told it's the release bearing on the clutch. New clutch - £400. Much less than £1000....

Last time a clutch 'clicked' on me it was pin shearing between the cross-shaft and release arm. Instantaneous deletion of clutch!

My v6 costs £500 plus parts and labour whenever something goes wrong... :(
