Hmmm is this Ferrari technology filtering down ? If so i hope they've perfected it. The throttle blip as you change down in a 360 is a nice touch though, and in an Alfa would be excellent.

Nope, the Qtronic is in effect an updated Q-System. It is a traditional torque-converter automatic gearbox, no connection at all with the Selespeed or Ferrari systems.

Answer to an email that i sent to AR regarding gear shift paddles.:) :)


Thank you for contacting the Alfa Romeo Customer Experience Centre.

We can confirm that the paddle shift system is available as an optional extra in all Q-tonic vehicles apart from those with 1.9 JTDm engines. Therefore the following vehicles will offer the paddles shift system as an optional extra.

Alfa 159 Q-Tronic

3.2 JTS Q4 - Lusso
2.4 JTDm - Turismo and Lusso


Alfa 159 Sportwagon Q-Tronic

3.2 JTS Q4 - Lusso
2.4 JTDm - Lusso
