Hi, Anyone fitted the Spax SSX lowering springs to their Brera? They are featured in this months Auto Italia for £140.99.

Or do you have any other lowering kit fitted?

Thanks

Leigh

Sorry you don't seem to be getting any feedback. I don't really know about the latest range, but Spax used to make pretty taught springs which produced very little roll and very tight body control. The downside is that the ride was very hard and unyieliding, and normally firmer than Koni springs.

I don't know if Spax have since changed their focus, but I always think it should be bourne in mind at what market sector suspension companies target. Leda, Spax and Bilstein all used to be very firm due to their motorsport and rallying heritage. I know Bilstein have changed, and are now a sophisticated high end brand. I don't know about Spax though. I'm sure they were subject to a management buyout a few years ago, about the time they started using Krypton gas in the hydraulic dampers. I always found Spax dampers to be a very motorsport focused brand as the dampers are one of the few which can adjust bump as well as rebound forces.

If no-one has more upto date info, I'd look out for nice riding Eibach springs. Also remember to uprate the dampers at the same time to prevent the chav bouncy ride and less tyre to road contact on imperfect surfaces.
