Thanks guys....Pics will follow as soon as I get a camera. The 1.8 is sweet alright.....bit of a dead spot at 1.5 - 2K in 2nd but i'm sure that's easily fixed.....like all things Alfa!! ;)
I've just talked my way INTO a meeting so that I can go driving!! Is this what it's like owning an AR?

1.5K? - Your rev meter must be broken!
I didn't know it could go that low :D

Only messin, its a fair comment.
Alfas are prety much in "low fuel consumption mode" at that rev range the pay back is greater acceleration at higher revs.
They pull okay from 2500, and really only come properly alive over 3K as the valve timing changes, but cruise fine at lower revs.
Best not to try too many overtaking manouveres in 5th!
3rd gear is very useful though for overtaking though.

One of the joys of Alfahood is changing gears.

Spot on. I owned a GTV 2.0l then a 156 2.0l Sportswagon anything under 3000 was a bit dead but over 3000 and you take off. I now have a 147 GTA its like conncord in any rev range.
