thinking about it, said stalker will be crapping themselves if they ring the tracker today and it reveals the location as a police station. :D

Round two, and potential knock out to you sir!

Well, made it through the night!

I've been out to our other car and had a good look round it and found nothing. Work collogues are all clear too, so it is personal.

This thread needs some Eastender type music adding to it.
I can see a film coming.
I thought I heard the ending to eastenders yesterday, but it was in fact the Missus falling down the stairs.

Interesting thread, and a bit worrying for the OP.

There are two types of trackers - one that sends data live to somewhere and one that logs the data and has to be retrieved at a later date. Here we have a case of tracker that sends the data live so the owner was not expecting to be able to retrieve it (or he was not expecting to know where to retrieve it from).
If it was personal then it would probably be just a simple logging tracker as they are a lot cheaper and the owner would be able to retrieve it.
Sim card was probably bought and paid with cash so i would not expect to get a lot from that.
If you can somehow convince EE to tell you when the tracker was turned on/started transmitting (or even better - which base station did it connect to) then you can check where your car was parked at the time and look for CCTV from there.
Otherwise I don't think you'll be able to find the owner of that tracker.

I've been informed it might not be sensible post on websites, the police are looking in to it.

The photo on the original post looks very similar to the Amazon link someone else provided, and it looks like a device that simply texts back its current location when called - i.e. it's not retaining any history. I also wonder what sort of GPS reception would be possible underneath a car? I suspect it wouldn't be able to work out its own position anyway.

Ive had a nightmare with a storker recently. she was in my back garden twice, put my 159 on gumtree for ÂŁ3000 then keyed all the car. Also letters through the door from funeral directors, and other companies, then i went watching ub40 and she knocked on my door were my kids were and misses, told lots of lies, I went to the police said then can do nothing. some scary people out there. hope you get sorted.

Cheer for the support guys, I've had to edit a few posts as the police are now looking into this. They're checking for any other signs that my property has been tampered with.
We're almost certain who is responsible

Jeez. Hope things turn out ok sw20dan!
It's a sad state of affairs when the technology which is supposed to help us is used for other (sinister) means!

As with anything on the Internet these days, it's wise to protect your anonymity whenever possible.
