At last!! Map update done successfully!! Last week I spoke to the head tech at my dealer, Monza Sport, and he reckoned that the correct format for the USB stick should be ExFat and result! ExFat works. Map now updated.

it is very interesting since in official service news they say:
USB flash drive with the manufacturer's certifcation of compatibility with Windows© operating systems, with
a minimum capacity of 4GB - formatted as NTFS.

Yep, that's why almost everyone uses NTFS, without problems ;)
(other then the Mac owners of course, who can use MacOS Extended (Journaled) )

I just did the map update after 3 years. New 32gb usb stick formatted to NTFS and plugged in under armrest. Installed in about 70 odd minutes I think. I did not leave the engine running. Just ignition on. Occasionally I turned the engine on from passenger side following one of the earlier tips to contort and press brake pedal leaning over from passenger side so that the 20 mins did not time out. Turning engine off did not quit the update, it pauses, but you can go back to map update and it resumes from where it paused. Easier than running the engine for 80 mins.

I took the long road into work yesterday, a pleasant morning for a nice drive it was.
