The soft top on the S4 is in perfect condition - but I've never had one before, how do I deal with it when washing the car? And is there any special maintenance I should do to keep it that way?

This question is prompted by seeing in the manual, 3 separate times, in bold writing "do not use a pressure washer on the soft top".

The day after I washed it with a power washer.

I have to say, given how the soft top 'clung' to the suds, not sure how possible it'd be to rinse it off without using a pressure washer.

Don't use a pressure washer. Get styles soft top cleaner. Easy wipe on. Used to use it on the jag. No special make our recommendation from me. Just that there are products that will clean and condition the roof to keep it nice.

So don't wash the top at all with the car shampoo used for the rest of the car?

Use that stuff every time? Or just occasionally?

Is it cloth or plastic?

Erm... cloth, I imagine. Not really examined many soft tops closely to know the difference.

As it's new to you, get a Renovo cleaner / proofer kit to sort it.

AG do a kit too which I've used on my Spider.

Just thought - snow foaming. Would you avoid getting that on the hood? Or just do the whole car?

The hood as it stands is in brand new condition, as is the whole car.

As long as the SF isn't too strong, it'll be fine.
