Curious one - my home driveway is on a slight downhill slope. When I've parked for several hours and then restart, there is only a small puff of white smoke and the car starts relatively easily.

When I park at work, it is the opposite. The driveway slope is a little steeper and I park facing uphill. When I restart after say 5 or 6 hours, the starting is quite a bit harder and the amount of smoke is quite significant.

The car is a 2.4 jtdM, drilled dpf, blanked egr and a dongle to switch off the engine management light from blocking off the egr.

Any thoughts?

I had this the other way round on a old Vectra Petrol

I put it down to worn Valve seals that when the car was parked nose down the oil would pool on the worn valve seal and if parked nose up the oil would pool in a different place.
