My slam panel has always been a mess of peeling and torn stickers and general dirt and filth.

Not any more though. My heat gun made short work of the stickers and some acetone made short work of the sticky gunk they left behind. Serpent added just because I had it.

A new header tank is next I think.

Can you buy a new set of stickers?

Say you were restoring, and wanted it to look like mint.
If it was an E-Type or a Mini Cooper yes. For these, probably not. If you could get hold of decent pictures of them, a graphics specialist could probably copy them for you though.

Header tank is quite easy to clean up, I've read you can put it in the dishwasher but unfortunately we dont have one

I cleaned mine with washing powder and then a final clean inside with carb cleaner - worked very well to remove 95% of the stains

Looks like a fair bit of works been done over that slam panel :p

Well that certainly look better than my clean-up
effort in that area, which normally involves just
wiping it down with the silcone grease covered rag
I use to clean/lube the bonnet rubber. ;)

I might give that a try.

The slam panel does look like it's seen a bit of action. Not sure if that's good or bad!
