As a 24th wedding anniversary treat, I dragged Mrs K to Skipton on Sunday to look at some old crocks on the high street. I love car shows like this. Not much by way of multi million pound cas but lots of enthusiastic owners of nice old stuff giving them a polish.

In no particular order, here are some highlights.

The styling of this wasn't entirely to my personal taste but the workmanship was quite remarkable. Countless tiny changes.

I love the idea of this. You waft along surrounded by leather and wood, V8 burbling away, and when you get knackered you pull over and have a kip.

From South Central LA to Skipton.

One of the highlights was hearing a bloke try to explain this to his wife.

Probably my absolute favourite. Loads of cool period details, air ride, Fuchs wheels. The colour was mixed by the owner. He decided Porsche brown was too dark so added white and yellow to get what he wanted.

I really want one of these.

Very nice 3 litre with some subtle changes (note bonnet struts).

The owner of this 2002 auto paid £600 for it 10 years ago. I offered to double his money but he was having none of it.

I found this a bit perplexing

Not a massive Harley fan but this looked great stripped of all the chrome tat they are usually festooned with.

Tatty old Prefect.

Wayne-dear of this parish got terribly excited when I put this pic on facebook. It is a very sexy machine.

This made me want to build a big ramp and jump over a row of buses.

20180603_133354 by keith hilton, on Flickr

Unusual colour

Wrong on many levels.

It won't mean much to those without a Manchester postcode but there was a time when pretty much every Ford in Manchester had an H&J Quick sticker and the Piccadilly 261 roundel in their back window.

That is the first time I’ve seen a car with quilted wheel arches.

The Prefect is absolutely in line with my approach - tatty but sound car, big engine. Pity the Land-Rover weighs about 2000 kg more than that does....

I recognise a few of those from the Wakefield Car Show.

Next on Sunday 28th April 2019. Live band and the city centre taken over by every style of car, van, bike and monster truck known to man.

In Skipton I picked up a flyer for something in Huddersfield (I think) in September (possibly). I'll check.
