Well it finally arrived and I've fitted it. Only problem is that as its for LHD, the wiper sits to the driver's side, although I've realised that if you flick the wiper stalk a little it will park near the bottom of the windscreen. Is there a wiper motor which would allow you to park it in any position? Heres a pic anyway (although its hard to make the wiper out) Sorry if the pics a bit big

Hi Deano. Once I figured out which way round it fitted as the part looks nothing like the crummy photo on "instruction" sheet, it was pretty simple I guess. You just remove the whole of the old mechanism, and fit the motor onto the new mech. It is a bit of a tight squeeze and you have to cut part of a bracket below the windscreen eek! , but once its tightened up it feels solid. The only problem I came across is because it is designed for a left hooker, a hole in the bottom of the plate on the new mechanism doesn't line up with the existing bolts, but as I said it felt solid enough with just 2 mounting points. When I came to test it though I thought it rested directly up, so it wiped half the n/s front wing :D Sussed it eventually cos the mech makes the arm sweep more of the n/s than o/s (for LHD). Fantastic sweep on it though. If your windscreen is full of water it launches it about 10 feet. Pedestrians beware :D

My only doubt is will it pass MOT test?. The bumf that comes with the kit has a leaflet that says it is approved by German MOT

You should be able to move the position the wiper rests at by adjusting where the motor connects to the mechanism. It's hard for me to explain, but I was mucking about with my wiper mechanism and put it back together wrongly. The wipers sat half way up the screen like your single wiper. I moved the mechanism to it's fully down extreme (if you know what I mean) then retightened it to the motor. I think you should be able to do this with your single wiper kit aswell.

Looks very good though.

Hey Alfastu,
Any chance you could let me know where you got the conversion kit from, what part no. was it and what did the kit consist of exactly?
I've been looking into getting a conversion for some time, I've approached Madeno Racing but they don't sell them any longer :(

Cheers,

T.

PS Any news from AW-Delta via those German guys at your work?

Hi TAZ. I ordered it through the German Car Company 01702 530440. They specialise in VWs etc, but the Kit is specifically for a 155 and is made by Bonrath. Don't know what code is though, box is at home. They will know which one though when you speak to them. Took about 6 weeks to get uit delivered.

The kit comprises of a complete new mechanism which you attach the existing wiper motor to, and a BOSCH wiper which fits onto the Bonrath arm supplied

the German lads haven't come up with the goods yet I'm afraid. They were stuck on translating a couple of words, and they seemed a bit pissed off when I kept hassling them so I'll just leave them to it if thats OK?

Cheers for the info Alfastu :D
Don't worry about pressing the Germans, the manifold is something that I am considering to have fitted in the future.

Thanks,

Taz.
