Just to let you know that on Sat 19th it is the HSCC (Historic sports car club) final race day at Silverstone. It promises to be a good days fun.
It's near enough for you EA folk if you are looking for some entertainment that day. (kneels and prays for a dry day).

It looks like it is linked to the BRSCC meeting also. The HSCC racing is on the Sat and if booked now is 9 quid to get it. Probably won't change and will stay the same on the gate. Thats the one I'm going to.
The BRSCC looks like Caterhams with some Alfas & MX5's thrown in.

I can't be there on Sun, but it's the HSCC I really want to see. Both days should be good if the weather just behaves, or there may be a call for some Cautious driving. The last thing I want to see is a MK1 Lotus Cortina wasted.

Hi Everyone

Just to clear up any confusion I think you will find there are two meetings on at Silverstone that weekend - the HSCC one is on the National circuit on Saturday only. On the International circuit is a BRSCC meeting over the 2 day (yes they can run meetings on both circuits at the same time!!).

The final 2 rounds of the BRSCC Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship take place on the new Silverstone International circuit on the 19th and 20th of October.

We have the biggest grid of Alfas that have raced in the UK for many years - with almost 40 cars currently entered.

The timetable will see the Alfa qualifying session take place on Saturday 19th at 14:45 with both of the Alfa races on Sunday the 20th - at 11:35 & 16:35.

There are lots of other races going on and some demonstration laps by a Caterham F1 car at lunchtime on both days.

The best bit of all is that thanks to Caterham Motorsport spectator access on both days is FREE.

We'd love to have some support from any local alfaowner members. Make sure if you do come you make a visit to the paddock and have a look at the cars and a chat with the drivers and teams - remember it's the new International circuit so the paddock is behind the new Silverstone "Wing" pits area.

Hope to see some of you there.

Excellent day yesterday at the HSCC finals championship.
After a night of rain, it looked threatening but stayed off all day to the delight of everyone.
It's always the touring & sports cars for me and there was a good eclectic mix. Lotus Cortina's, Alfas, Anglias, Minis, Imps, Mustangs, BMW's, MGB's, Morgans, Healey 3000's, healey sprite, TVR's, Lancia, Arkley ss, Lenhams, Lotus Elans, Lotus Elite, TR3, TR5, Triumph 2000, Jaguar XJS, and more.........
Our own Bury st Edmunds Ian Jones carried off (for the 2nd year) the classic racing cars cup.
His nearest competitor who at one stage was leading, found spinning in circles more fun and spun 3 times in as many laps!
A huge turn out on the ever popular Formula Ford & classic juniors.
A walk round the paddock and a meal in the Paddock cafe (Sausage chips & beans at steak & chips prices) made the day.
One or two pics will go up later, and a great day for everyone.
