Has anyone tried to fit one to a GT, a working one aerial that is not an imitation. Some of the facelifted 156s had them

I'd like to fit one myself, but i'm a bit hesitant to, incase it doesn't get sealed off properly and causes leaks.

if your 156 has the ariel into the rear heated screen mech, then just a 'smear' of silicone onto the underside of the 'sharkfin' and leave to set , that stuff won't damage the paint, + it'll stick like **** to a blanket!!!!!!! job done, still get reception+ the more updated look !!!!!

Can you use these to improve radio reception?
I need a better ariel or something - its driving me nuts.
Radio reception was great at dealers (Cheshire) but ooop here in the middle of Cumbria its useless except for Radio 1 and who wants to listen to that ****?
Never had a problem in any other car.

It's not just BMWs though, and I'm 99.9% sure I've seen a couple of facelifted 156s with them. It was just a thought, I thought it would fit the profile of the GT
