Hi, had a bit of a scare earlier when the brake pedal in my 156 went straight to the floor momenteraly.

I applied the brakes(gently) then all of a sudden the pedal seemed to start tapping and then went to the floor. I managed to stop the car, set of again and they where fine.

Had new discs and pads fitted not long since.

Could it be something to do wih the ABS unit.

Thanks.

Check your brake reservoir but to me it sounds like a pad was fitted into a tight caliper. Now it has eventually settled into place. the tapping would sound like the ABS operating because a wheel was attempting to 'skid'. Keep an watchfull eye on things.

Cheers Lacken. Fluid level is ok. Could this be a problem that sorts itself out or do I need to take a look at the pads?

for your own peace of mind it might be a good idea to get your mechanic to look at the issue
