Thank you for posting.
All sounds good and at least he now has a direction for Alfa Romeo. I fear it will be the end of the "affordable Alfas" however, they will be pitching Giulia at a more premium price. (Not that I can afford another  )Italian newspapers also reported what Marchionne said about Alfa Romeo during a press conference in Detroit.
Nothing really new, but in summary he said that the new Alfa Romeo models will use the expertise of Maserati and Ferrari for new exclusive engines and no more sharing of components with Fiat models. He also said that Alfa will go out of the 'mass market' (to compete in the premium market) and the new models will be produced in Italy.
He also said that the new Fiat-Chrysler entity will get a new name.
A good result. The UK car manufacturing industry apparently exported 1.1 million cars in 2013. An additional 300,000 cars were made in the UK and registered in the UK. A total of 1.4 million UK manufactured vehicles!Just read that Nissan produced more vehicles at Sunderland than the entire Italian motor industry last year!
