Hi guys.....

It's been a solid 2 years now with my Selespeed 156 GTA, and i have loved every minute of it. Sometimes frustrating, but most of the time backfiring and passing everything else in the process has been plenty of fun....

Baby is coming soon, and i have to grow up. I'm selling the GTA, and have just bought a Subaru Outback 3.0R...

The car is much better suited to my requirements now;

:lol:Much much much more Space
Not as Fast
Less Loud (but that might change)
No Q2 so i wont be going fullspeed into and out of corners like i used to.....


Most importantly, no more speeding fines...

Was a present from my wife for being a big boy and giving up my favourite toy

Congrats on the imminent arrival of the 'wee one' but sad to hear you are letting go of the GTA

A poor excuse that you have to grow up :lol: I used to have 3 kids in the back of my Sprint but it wasnt exactly suitable for the family run and my wife did have her own car, at least you're not leaving the Alfa fold though

p.s. funny you mention that...some rich fart on this side of the world sent his lamborghini murcielago to london and back for a service.....why.. was all over the news and the treehuggers were up in arms...

shhhh he was from Qatar. $47,000 for the flight and service. I believe that the ruler of Qatar has made a declaration that no one is to do that again and anyone shipping their car in and out of the country will have it impounded and scraped

I think this is also the result of the film 'Taken' where there is a scene with Liam Neeson about to rescue his daughter from an Arab Sheik and their car looks to have a Qatar number plate - dont think that went down too well

That's a shame Stephen, especially as an Alfa it's such a unique car in Abu Dhabi let alone being a GTA. Is there an Alfa specialist in AD and did you manage to sell it easy or did you part ex it?

Why not to sell the 166 instead and keep the GTA? Its much more special car and your new Subaru will compensate the 166. Just a thought.

That's a shame Stephen, especially as an Alfa it's such a unique car in Abu Dhabi let alone being a GTA. Is there an Alfa specialist in AD and did you manage to sell it easy or did you part ex it?

Alfa's are few and far between in the UAE in general, and GTA's are even fewer... but like i said, gotta grow up.... whenever i drive that car, i'm perpetually on the gas pedal, it's so much fun.. but the Subaru is just more practical, plus no service costs for the first 80,000km and we got an AED 11,300 discount on the car or 10%... so i'm very happy and my wife is ecstatic really...

The choice was the GTA or the GTV... i chose to keep the GTV.... she's a 68 and truly special, so i guess i made the wise choice!

Nope, i have been banned from mentioning anything to do with selling the 166... my wife is just too attached to that car... i guess she's the real undercover petrolhead... she loves the raggazon exhaust and the unichip Q+... and i cannot get anything else with the level of finishes and the smooth drive the 166 has for the money it's worth now... so logically that stays... (the red leather was one of the reasons selling the car became a NO NO subject)
