Hi hope you guys are well.was just wondering ive got a 2002 selespeed and i started her up this morning and all was good,,reversed out of the yard but i kept hearing a ticking sound.Well anyways I reversed out of the yard selected first and as soon as i selected second she just kicks into neatral And the selespeed failure warning.Please help..Im still studing and dont wanna get ripped off,Thanks in advance

Check fluid level in res. If ok move on.
Check the car goes into all gears with the engine off. If yes move on
Does the selespeed pump sound when you open the drivers door?
If yes I'd be tempted to say either your clutch is too far out of alignment and would need to be adjusted, there is a thread in here about clutch rod actuator for something...
or more worryingly the clutch needs replacing. What milage has the car done?

the pump does initiate when i open the doors.And while the car is off i cant select second it selects it for a second the flashes then im back in neutral the cars got 105000 kms now.Thanks again

I'd go for a clutch length adjustment followed by a recalibrate...after checking for stored fault codes

sounds like the beginings of the problem I've got!! Mine went like that for a day before not working at all.
