Hoping for some guidance adjusting the clutch push rod, I’ve got AlfaOBD and MES, which I have been using to readjust the length to 28.5mm after fitting a new actuator.

After starting to adjust the pushrod, it seemed to come straight out of the piston within the Selespeed housing.
Managed to screw the rod back on to the piston, yet is no longer sitting within the unit.

Is there a specific way to wind it back in or am I missing a clip of some sort?
Any help is much appreciated as I am currently out of a car.

Picture attached, bit blurry as I had to cut it from a video.
Many thanks!

Have you undone and loosened off the 10mm lock nut at the base?

Hi Bazzbazz I have loosened the 10mm nut on the rod itself, are there any other nuts I should loosen?

If the piston the clutch rod screws into is coming loose and out of the actuator then I would say the Roll Pin that attaches it to the actuator has sheared and needs replacing.

Thanks bazzbazz, it seems to screw back into the actuator sometimes, then when you run the clutch rod adjustment as Davffc has directed us to, it pushes it back out! Very frustrating, can't seem to get it sorted at all, could be a job for the Alfa garage.
