I recently had a 147 2.0L selespeed, the actuator went on the box and needed replacing. At the time the car was under a parts warranty with the dealer I bought it from. He said get it fixed, to cut a long story short, after he found out that the parts was going to total £1200+ he changed his mind and said he would give me £500  So I am now taking him to court for the rest.

However, his arguement is that they offered me a replacement reconditioned part and I refused it. Which is bullsh1t anyway, but I was under the understanding that 2nd actuators do not exist, once its knackered its knackered, as its a sealed unit, etc.

Can anyone prove or disprove this theory.

My plan is to get some back up from garages, alfa, etc, so when my day in court comes the dealer will be left looking like a numpty :tut: :D

Thanks :)

Sorry but Alfaman services of Rayners Lane, (Harrow) in London offer guaranteed reconditioned actuators on exchange.

I know of people who have had them shipped overseas and fitted locally with no issues.
