Hi Guys,

My Selespeed is losing oil from the hydraulic system. One of the suggestions is that the seal between the actuator and the gearbox has failed. Is this an easy fix? Are there other avenues I should be checking before going down the route of seals?

I have seen a post that suggests that any Dextron III compatible oil is fine for the system, is this the case?

Just to put it into terms, I have used 1ltr of oil in 4 weeks.

It isn't a seal between the actuator & gearbox, it is an internal high pressure seal inside the actuator.

Have you removed the gearbox fill plug to check the level in the box yet?

As for using 1L of fluid in 4-weeks, that is excessive in a system that only takes 0.6L !!

Gearbox fill plug is on the front of the gearbox between the reversing light switch and the input shaft speed sensor.

Taking a wheel off is unlikely to help!

I better get a bucket ready just in case lol

I will check all the pipework for possible leaks too but I cant see any signs of leakage unless its coming out under pressure while the pump is operating.

I had the car on a pit this morning to replace the Oxy Sensor and noticed that the cross member was covered in oil. So I think I know where my Hydraulic fluid is going haha.

I am assuming that there is a split in the return pipe to the reservoir.
