Welcome to the Forum Colin, nice chioce of car and engine:thumbs:

Motoring : Directgov - MOT history request
Put your registration number and MOT test certificate number in and you will be able to find:
When & where it was tested in the past
How many miles were recorded between tests
If there were any further failures/ advisories in the past...

Very handy that one, as for example:
You will see if it was failed/advised on suspension bushes etc.... So then you will be able to figure out when they were done last if no other records show:thumbs:

It's quiet a good tool as you will be able to track how reliable the car owner has been with keeping up maintenence... I.e. Fewer advisories/ between MOT tests usually means they have kept on top of the car the rest of the year instead of waiting to find out;)

As for service items...
Check the location of the previous owner and do a search for a local independant Alfa specialist in that area. Chances are they may have had the car through their hands at one stage....
At least you can then start to patch together a history for your own peace of mind...
Hope this helps:thumbs:

Nice car - I drove one of those for 10 years

An HPI check will reveal any private number plates that the vehicle has had.

The only urgent things to check on the car immediately are the oil level and the age of the cambelt. If in doubt, change the belt.

Bingo... Amazing what you can glean from the internet...
Just put the private reg in as a google search you come up with a guy who quite clearly owned an Alfa 156 (pic in top left corner) although it does look like more Grigario Chairo (silver) and not African Grey....

S778SRT was registered in Ipswich too so it's pretty much safe to assume it's the previous owner
