hello all,
:confused:i need to replace both middle and rear section of my exhaust on my s4 spider.I have looked at a few web sites and i have seen rear sections both with and without a silencer. What is the difference and should i go for stainless steel or just steel as i only do about 1,500 dry mile a year?

The difference between the rear box with and without a silencer is a noise thing. Some people think that these cars don't sound "sporty" enough so would rather a rear pipe without. Be aware that a loud exhaust can get annoying after a while though.

Personally I've found these exhausts to be reasonably long lived so if you only do dry miles then I'd go for a mild steel one.

But then like the noise thing, it's your call.

Man, I kinda think the tone the S4's produce with a silencer is just purrrrrfect - why would you wanna mess with that! Mound Dawg is right, a noisy exhaust might be cool at first, but take the car to Scotland and see how you feel then? Round the the town, cool - long journey's not so cool.
