I was followed for several miles this morning through Winkfield, around Ascot and into Bagshot by a pale blue F/L 166 - rare enough, but this was also registered RX08..., so was one those batch of cars registered earlier this year - Anyone on here own this? At one point I had a new Fiat 500 in front of me and this 166 behind with my 166 in the middle - felt a bit like I was driving to an AutoItalia day:)

The one philipohara mentioned was pale blue, whereas the one in the link is dark blue, so can't be the same. Incidentally, am I correct in thinking the dark blue one is actually a 3 litre Sportronic but with Ti wheels & badges on?
Yes, all of this batch via monza sport, veloces and parks were 3.0 Sportronics

So has he actually fitted all the Ti bits or just the wheels? Seems a bit naughty putting on Ti badges if it doesn't have the Ti Pack. Then again, I suppose you are at liberty to put V12 Biturbo on the back, if you really want...

He bought wheels, springs and badges and was considering kick plates etc. but was not going to change seats, instruments etc.

hi dougie, a new pale blue 166 was at veloces when i picked up mine this year, the colour is pearlescent and flips to silver and purple,it must be the same one,it had not been prepared for sale ie plastic removed etc or been given a thorough clean an polish but could imagine it would look the biz in the sunshine or under moterway lights,,,,,,

Sorry to be late coming back on this... I think Dave you must have identified the right car - the pearlescent paint certainly made the car stand out, it did look really nice.

Just as an aside I have a set of 18" Ti wheels on the way for my car - one of my Sienna's is bent beyond repair and I can't find another replacement :( Still should look good on the Ti's :)

Cheers

Philip

Hi Dave, Sounds very nice - I dont think I have seen that colour. Glad to hear you are still in awe of your 166 but remember to enjoy it aswell! ;)

Will look good Philip - I put a Siena on my Ti when I got a puncture, it looked very small in comparison to the Ti's. I know it was a 17 compared to and 18 but difference looked much more, you will soon see what I mean!

Hi Dougie,

well sadly i need to wait a bit longer... the Ti wheels that arrived are the wrong colour:confused: They are a bright silver rather than a slightly darker colour as apparently they are supposed to be. Alfa UK have confirmed this and some more are on the way from Italy:wow: I was quite happy to take them as they were, but my trusty specialist AlfaAid insists that I don't just in-case I ever need a replacement in the future and I will have 3 wheels one colour and one wheel another colour.

Dave, yes it may as well be an everyday car. I've had mine since it was 6 months old and it's now on 85,000 miles or so and I have to say everyone of them as been great!

Does it make any difference to the economy on the Sportronic? The STR on the manual doesn't seem to have any effect on economy but certainly makes it feel much sharper.
