I was under the bonnet yesterday to top up the washer fluid and spotted part of the wiring loom that was hanging loose, unconnected. It was close to the washer reservoir on the near side (picture attached). There are no warning lights suggesting what it might be.
Any ideas?

What's that hanging down in the background? Or is it just a trick of the light?

Thanks for this ... I did have a quick search before posting but nothing obvious came to light.
At least I can rest easy now.

I found that on mine too when changing my headlight bulbs. I thought I had missed a cable when putting it back together and spent ages looking for something to plug it into. There wasnt anything and everything still works OK. My guess was maybe HID lights if you have that option which I dont.

I found the same connector when fitting HID lamps to mine. The general consensus of opinion (backed up by my mechanic) is that it is the connector for the headlamp washers on production fitted HID lamp models.
