Fantastic write-up.

What a shame they never made any in RHD.

For mine, still the most heart-achingly gorgeous car design of the past decade.

Thank you all! Glad you enjoyed it.

Nev, if you need some recommendations for places, let me know. Where will you be staying?

Thanks Afshin, it's all planned. Flying into LAX (cheaper than SFO
at the moment) and overnighting in Santa Barbara then Carmel.

Then ditching the softtop for a weekend in San Francisco and
picking up an SUV for some National Park Touring the following week.

Brilliant. Really enjoyed reading this and hope the 8C is your wedding car as well!

Cheers,

Right, I've figured out how to play this game...California highway in an 8C...California highway in a rented Corvette...California highway in a rented Sebring! That means I win, doesn't it? ;)

(Actually as far as I'm concerned I do. :) They were both still wonderful trips. The sun still beamed down, the wind still blew, and the stunning vistas and seascapes still spread out before me, and with the top down, I got to experience them all. And I actually had people stop and tell me how lovely they thought the car was.)

Thanks for sharing your journey with us. :)

Sure trumps my effort - California highway in a rented Challenger R/T, re-enacting Spielberg's "The Duel" with an enthusiastic towtruck.:p

Well you had me in the horsepower war, but I think I ended up slightly stronger in the "pleasant trip, almost didn't die" category. ;)
