Evening all.

My S4 is having some desirable TLC:thumbs:

In addition to new suspension & the steering idler repair, he's trying to sort out the snatchy throttle.

Smart money was on a new cable which was reckoned to come from a Cortina MkIII. One ordered & arrived but it's wrong:(

I've also heard a RHD 33 may have been the donor. Any difinitive suggestions:confused:

Thanking you please,

Worse comes to worse your local bike shop may be able to make a cable up for you using the old one as a pattern.

If the cable was sticking and not broken just buy a cable lubricator/oiler (around £5-£6). Good squirt of lube will do it. When you say the Mk3 Cortina cable is wrong...how?

The ends were wrong (connections). The chap that's doing the work is exploring other options.

I'm advised that the suspension is sorted and the front now sits 2" higher.

New springs, Koni shocks, a load of bushes & finally a rebuilt steering idler (being done now).

All I know is I'm really missing her:cry:

This may only apply to Series3 spuiders but I had to get a new throttle cale for mine.
It is a 1986 imported by Lombarda and converted under commision by seaking
The MkIII weber throttle cable (MTC333) fits exactly.
Got mine off ebay (NOS) but also available at: Cortina MK3 Throttle cable weber carb
