Hi,

Coming to the UK next week to buy a Duetto. I've been living overseas for a long time and returning to live in the UK. I have a c/o address in London (W12) but will be moving to the countryside as soon as I find a place. Don't want to buy the car only to find out I can't get insurance cover! Car will be parked on the street. I've a full UK, aged 56, married with a good driving record. Can some kind soul recommend a cheap insurance company that I can call / email for a quote + get immediate cover? Thank you.

Hi Ingrid, There's loads of websites that'll give you quotes, rate them in almost any order you want. The beauty of these sites is that you only have to fill in details once (for each site) and they'll come back with loads of quotes.

e.g.
Confused.com
Money Supermarket.com

To name two. If you choose Google UK and ask for Car insurance Quotes there's plenty more where they came from.

Welcome to AO and welcome back to old Blighty :D

FranK:

Many thanks for the tip. I'll do some research but so far, they all seem to want you to call them which I'll do when I arrive. I tried to get instant quotes over the net, but so far, no joy. Thanks again and for your warm welcome!

We are with SAGA, have been very satisfied with both vehicle and house building/contents insurance they provide, for the over 50's.

Not the most inexpensive, but first class should you have to claim.:):
