I know a number of solutions for retrofitting have popped up for various things such as paddles, Auto cruise control etc. Haven't seen anything on reversing camera. I didn't get it fitted, but after numerous scraped alloys thinking it might be a good idea. Has anyone done this / or is it offered by any dealers or specialists? Would it be possible by ordering parts, installing and using MES it activate it? Or does it require a whole new head unit al a AA and Apple car play?
Apparently you can't retro fit (I've asked the same question). It would have to be a new unit and display (replacing the rear view mirror is a possibility)
Damn thought as much as couldn't find any threads on it. Its such a pain they don't allow for retrofit of thinks such as cameras and carplay etc. You would have thought they could make nice profit adding things as people go. Never will understand how car companies work. They seem to actively make things awkward.
I ordered it on my new Stelvio and it’s turned out to be £340 or so well spent. There are complaints about the low definition image but then it’s not a movie needing HD,
The Stelvio was over the £40k without any of the extras, by some thousands, so that wasn’t an issue. I suppose in the case of a car taken over that price you have to consider the luxury car tax an extra running cost unless it can be retro-fitted.
Yes, my cheap side couldn't quite cope flushing £1600 down the drain when it was so close in terms of price and tax threshold. Its pretty hard with this car at moment to add things later on however.
I've seen those, I know there was an android one too, didn't sound like it worked though, so a bit dubious about the cameras. Plus not a clue where it would plug in
