The facelift interiors come pre wired and have the pedal switches. You just have to buy the stalk and bottom cowling to suit and it is plug and play. pre facelifts are not pre wired and don't have the pedal switch.

I don't think that cruise control was even an option on the pre-interior facelifts.

i tied a peice of string to the throttle, ran the string to the drivers electric window. now get up to speed by pulling string, when at desired speed trap string with window! job done 10p:lol: :cheese:

many thanks guys, ace upgrade, great information - this was the only thing I was really missing when I bought the 156. Happy Happy. Dealer price is now about £86 for cowling and stalk, still well worth it.

Having read through this great post on Sunday I went down to my local dealer and ordered the stalk and cover and it arrived today! Took 10 minutes to fit!! and wow!! It worked on the first turn on and the light worked on the second attempt!

Thanks for the great info! My car by the way is a mid facelift 2003 156 2.4jtd SW which has the new facia but not the front end lift.

I did this on my Audi A3 previously but was more expensive and a bit more involved as it needed manual programming. Cheapest upgrade I have done in a while.

Dealers may vary in price I guess but the cowl was approx 12.50 and the stalk was approx 65.00 + vat. I have lost the invoice to give exact amounts, sorry.

i got a stalk from a 147 and managed to get the wiring sorted. but i cant seem to work out the bracket fixes to the car, is it the same or is some modification needed?

Big thanks for Jason at Donald's Alfa for the fast delivery on the parts and those of you who have posted the pictures.

It did not work for 24hrs then took it apart and gave it a bit of a fiddle then it worked!

Never give up hope, must of liked Saturdays!

I have had both on the bench to compare, the plug is the same but they arent machanically compatable with each other and dont snap in and fix to the others stalk pack, sorry.

thanks for that. i managed to mod the bracket to fit. its fairly butchered but when the cowlings on its hard to notice. whats the proper angle in relation to indicator stalk once installed?

i have just bought cc stalk but can not find the proper wiring to connect it. i see the switch on the clutch (brownish module?) but no luck on finding cc wiring.

can anybody have an idea? i try to post some pictures.

Does your car have the Interior Facelift ? Should have a Silver center dash.

My 2003 Sportwagon 1.9 JTD had the Wiring and I do have the Silver Dash.
