morning lads... iv spent most of the night reading threads on this forum, its 6 in the morning and iv been up all night with the dog who had pups yesterday... one had to be hand fed evey 2 hours but unfortunatly she just died
anyway back to the thread
id just like to say what a great read all these threads have been over the past few weeks (as am off work after a hip op, dont worry its not a dance related injury ;0) this site is the only thing keeping me sain at the moment as iv been house bound for a month
im learning more and more everyday and its great to see so many knowledgable sud fans sharing a common interest!! its a propper community
so then to the subject in hand, i was just wondering if anyone might be interested in a very good series 3 ti greencloverleaf bodyshell?
iv had this one in a storage for 20 years and itd be a shame to scrap it as im losing the storage space this year. iv always kept it as a future project but to be honest its just never gonna get done. all thats left is the shell as iv used or thrown out all the other stuff ready to clear the barn its in. i also have a s3 ti with excellent engine and box but am hoping i can leave that where it is for now..
its a rolling chassis, all it needs is wing rails and front panel, i removed them about 13 yrs ago ready to make a start... i bought the inner wing rails from justsuds so iv already got them, the front panel i got off steve parry but iv just put that on the series 2 im doing so id need another one... it'll no doubt need other work but am sure nothing major as it had everything it needed done ( floor bungs plated, battery tray also) i prepped the shell (with the help of 3 mates one of whom is a painter) rubed it down inside and out except the front end (i couldn't afford a panel beater to fit the front panel and wing rails at the time)
then my mate painted it in primer for a bottle a voddy i think  then as i realised i wasn't gonna be able to get much done for a while so i completly soaked it waxoil and put it back into storage!! its sat there ever since...
The thing is the bodyshop who are restoring my series 2 do an extremely cheap rate so long as they can take their time and just fit it in with other work... this is how theyv done my series 2 which theyv had since about last april/may!!
i could give them the shell, tell them theres no rush! i bet theyd sort it for not much more than a £1,000 to £1,500 including painting inside out!
so the question is, is there anyone out there restoring a 2 door s3 sud with a rotten bodyshell that might be interested in this shell? im not looking to make a profit, just see this shell go to good use!!
if anyone wants it as it is they can have it, just so long as its going for a rebuild project, not to cut up for panels etc! To see it go to a good home for rebuild, and see it back on the road would make my decade
compared to some of the resto projects iv seen on here id think this would be an easy fix!!!
i could get a quote for a resto if anyones interested, no money would have to be paid till the cars done, probably a good year down the line.
heres a little pic of it in about 91 just before i took it off the road (for a bit of a revamp haha) i stood my little brother infront of it coz it had a little bump on that corner wing
i have very fond memories of this car, i was about 21 when i got it and me and my mates went all over in it, i had so many offers for it but i would never have sold it! it often gets a mention in the pub still today as we reminis over our little excursions in the scud missile haha thrashing my mates in their escorts and siestas!!!
