Not full service history from Alfa as dealerships are very thin on the ground in the North West at least three have wrapped up in the last few years.

Still worth seeing if they’ll contribute to the cost of new door release as they’ve suggested the will consider , in the past?

Cue, I'm worried, are you feeling OK? Geoff clearly called his door card a 'door card' and instead of needlessly and incorrectly trying to educate him you instead gave him some useful advice. Is this a new more tolerant version of Cue since you reached 30000 posts? Keep up the good work, you'll find its good for the soul to be so benevolent.

I think you’ll find I spend a lot of time searching for relevant posts for people in an attempt to help them. I also recently retired from over thirty years as a designer of cars including designing interiors and I can tell you that the part that goes on the the interior of the door is the doortrim. Is has been since it stopped being a piece of vinyl trimmed card that slid between some flanges on the door inner. Door-trims are quite a complex item. To call them a card is not accurate.

Phew, I was worried there, order has been restored :biglaugh:

FYI I think you might need to contact the internet because they don't seem to have caught up with your new term yet.

Just as the part referred to in this thread is a door release rather than an opener or handle.

To anyone who’s interested bought an aftermarket inner drivers door release from Alfa Workshop £68.90 expensive but a lot less than a complete new door trim.Good instructions on there website they advise to drill the tops off the plastic rivets and a guy on YouTube Alfaman advises to soften them with a heat gun.I didn’t do either but used a Dremil tool with a little grinding wheel it worked fine. Not an easy job but went better than I thought took around 4 hours including waiting for glue to go off.

New one on its way from Alfa workshop.
