So after reading through multiple thread and guides on here. i decided to change the transmission fluid, the behavior of gearbox isn't the best, hesitate to change, grumpy etc.

I've done staged transmission fluid changes on other cars in the past, so it was pretty run of mill.

I didn't use the TUTELA GI/VI. I isstead used a local brand called Penrite.

I got 3 x 4 litre bottles of Penrite low-viscosity Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid.

It's an Australian brand, they make very good quality automotive fluids.

Changed the fluid in stages, reset the gearbox self adaption via Multi-ecu-scan, and went for a 15 minute blast around the suburb, a mixutre of full throttle and coasting etc.

The result?

Wow! The Improvements are beyond absurd. It drives like a different car, completely. Engine has responded very well to it.

>accelerates faster
>shifts are silky smooth
>changes at the snap of the fingers.

the "sealed for life fluid" was black. Now it's cherry red.

I wasn't going to get the tut

Hopefully it prolongs the gearbox for many years to come.

I can only presume that given the bullet proof reliability that Aisin have proven over the years, Alfa decided in their quirky wisdom that fluid renewal wasn't a factor!
I'm pleased you changed it. I did mine when I first purchased it, it too transformed the drivability literally!

It's really a no brainer!
