This Excites me as i love Alpines!

Taken From Renaultforums:

Renault is previewing the future of Alpine with a new Vision sports car.
The French automaker isn’t calling it a concept, but rather a show car that previews a future production model. According to Renault, the Alpine Vision show car “combines sensual design with outstanding agility, true to the great Alpine A110 Berlinette loved and admired by enthusiasts around the world.” The Alpine Vision is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine built by experts at Renault Sport. Combined with its low weight, the Alpine Vision show car can go zero to 62 mph in under 4.5 seconds, which is also the target for the future production model.

Renault announced that over the next 12 months, the Alpine team will focus on turning the Alpine Vision into a production model that will be “very close to today’s show car in terms of design, weight, handling, agility and attention to detail.” The team will be managed by a small group of passionate experts within Groupe Renault with Michael van der Sande leading as Alpine managing director and Antony Villain heading Alpine design.

“Motorsports and sports cars are deeply rooted in the DNA of Groupe Renault,” said Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn. “Earlier this month we announced our return to Formula One with a Renault team, and today we are announcing Alpine. This is an exciting next step in our strategy to leverage talent and technology between road and track, and we look forward to reaching new customers in the sport premium cars segment.”

I like it! Wouldn't say it's a stunner, but it has a certain je ne sais quoi about it. I like thinking behind it, too. This is a good car to welcome onto the roads :)

Yup, like it too. Its not beautiful in a aesthetic way, but it has charm and there a too little mid engined reasonable affordable sport cars around, next to the 4C.

past a car transporter this morning, all the cars the same shape, all with white covers on, all had the word APLINE in large letters on the side, must have been 8 - 10 cars? Seen on the A27 just East of Chichester.

Saw one on in Clio blue the trip back from Barca on Sunday.

It wasn't very imposing.

At least it didn't burst into flames.
