Hi People - I have a coulple of new leather amrest covers to fit and I recall a single post here that said the armrests can be removed without taking the door card off??

Please let it be so  (last time I had the cards off it took me six attempts to cure the "bouncing locks" syndrome!!)

:( Sadly it aint so...

The armrests have threaded inserts in them which are secured by allen headed machine screws accessed on the rear of the door card.

I think he means the rests, not the large pads and my armrests have fallen out before and it's best still to remove the door card as after you get them off it's unlikely they'll stay in as the tabs need to be bent back into place.

I couldn't be arsed to take the door card off so used double sided sticky fixers.. it's still on there..

the grey outdoor ones ..available from your local WH Smiths.. about two quid..

(I'll do it properly next time the door release needs fixing)..

I just replaced mine today, on the move! Carefully judicious bending of the tabs does allow a friction fit reinsertion.....
