The Sedici seems to be a flop for Fiat!

Only 74 registrations in the whole of europe for a new car aint good!!:(

Looks like the 159 might have saved Alfa's ass!! 7841 registrations seems pretty good to me.

I hadn't even heard of the sedici, punto looks to be doing well, hopefully they are not heavy discounted and are actually pumping money into Fiat finally.

do these figures include dealer cars?

What is typically the best period for new cars sales from a manufacturers perspecive? I would have thought the first couple of months would be slow.

Wrinx, the 1000 Brera's is UK limit.
Alfa20V - the Sidici wasn't even launched in the period these figures cover (Jan & Feb - Sidici launched March). The ones they have registered were the cars used at the Winter Olympics. Far from being a flop, in the first 10 days of being on sale 7000 orders were placed.

Jings!

The Gt seems to have suffered a heck of a drop off in sales for the same period -40% less cars sold in 2006 than same period 2005!

The Sedici didn't offically reach dealerships until march, and its order book is filling very fast, 7000 orders within first two weeks of sales!

159 might save Alfa's ass????7841 is for jan & feb when the 156 sold 7238 in the same period last year, hardly what alfa wanted!

Hmmm,
Don't see it myself.

Renault brought out a 4x4 Megan Scenic
a few years back and it's gone down
like a fart in a space suit.

Isn't this just a Suzuki SX4 with a different shell?

yeah the figures included dealer demos etc... The punto is running away with the number one slot, its closet rival, the Focus has 70171, followed by the Clio at 69068, and then the Golf at 60119

Fiat have thankfully stopped the practice of selling at all costs, and are now concentrating on profit rather than quantity, so much so that if the sales continue to be so strong they will have to revise upwards the Fiat Auto profit for 2006, its predicted to be €100million, but should beat this comfortably. €100million may not sound like alot (and its not in the motor industry) but its a huge step forward for Fiat Auto when u consider they have been making losses of close to €1bn for the last few years (ex2005). In fact the 4qtr of 2005 was the first qtr in 17 that Fiat Auto posted a profit (21million)

In europe as a whole, the really good months seem to be March, January & June

you're quite right, it is just a SX4 with a few bits of cladding, but they only plan to sell 20,000/year. Its not at all like the 4x4 Scenic, they're targeted at totally different types of customer. The Sedici may not sell in huge numbers, afterall Fiat sell 20,000 Puntos in about half a month, but for it to be seen as a hit its gotta help Fiat's bottom line, that it'll do no doubt.

I have to agree that the 159 sales don't look that good - especially as it was known that the 156 was shortly to be relaced by the 159, hence you might expect a product at the end of its life not to be selling so well.

Having said that, the 159 wasn't available for delivery, if special ordered, by the end of February (and I believe possibly may still not be available in some markets) so that may account for at least some of the disappointing figures?
