Is this a difficult job or a garage job

Well the gearbox has to come off, then clutch and flywheel removed to get access. Replacing the seal is pretty easy, its just what you have to do to get to it that ruins your day. ;)

Also whilst you're there have a look at the balance shaft seals as one or both may have started to leak. That was the problem with mine when I suspected the crankshaft seal had failed. The Lancia engines that have balance shafts have better seals.
