Re: 156 help please

sorry it froze when i posted ill try again

hi everyone i wonder if anyone could help. i have a 156 veloce selespeed and have a problem where the car when warm will just jam in gear with the selespeed warning light coming on. The only way to get it working is to switch it of for 10-30 mins and then restart. I have checked the oil which was leaking and had the pipes and tank changed, this seems to have stoped the oil leaking but im still getting the same fault, the pump had been checked and it is working properley, does anybody have an idea what the problem might be? as both myself and the garage are at a loss. Thank you in advance

regards
darren

Is the Selespeed light flashing when this happens?

Re: 156 help please

If it is flashing it means the Selespeed fluid pressure is low.

Usual suspects are:
Selespeed pump
Selespeed pump relay
Electrical connections to and from Selespeed pump.
Low fluid level can also do it.

Is the Selespeed fluid level up to the "Max" mark?
Is it the correct fluid in there?

Remember to check the fluid level with the ignition on, check it just after the pump stops.
