Hi guys!

Does anyone know if rattles are covered on the UK 2nd year warranty at all?

I have an annoying one thats started on the near side left quarter panel area but as its a saloon I can't figure out how to remove the parcel shelf as its fixed! I suspect its coming from one of the enertia reels.

Thanks in advance.

Rattles n creaks etc are covered by warranty ...but not necessarily resolved ... My 159 was back to alfa numerous times to sort out creaky windscreen and other rattles ...never got fully resolved. Some silicon spray works on windscreen for a time. Also , I prodded and pushed all the panels and a few were not snugly fitted ... but it worked for a few squeaks around the b-pillar for example on plastic panel "clicked" into place when pushed and this resolved a particular creak. Also the glove box ...I've resorted to small bit of cardboard wedged in the side which keeps it squeak free. Unfortunately silicon spray seems not to work anymore on creaky windscreen !!

Rattles and squeeks arent officially covered under warranty. (Least thats what AR stealers tell me) Any fixes are done on a good will basis :(
That said in the last 3 years I've had 6 or 7 trips to the stealers for fixes for squeeks and never been charged once. (Its a standard T&C cop out) The main issue as im told from a friendly man in the know is ARUK will only pay the dealer 30 minutes labour to sort the issue, which is apparently standard across the motor industry. Obviously that gives them sod all time to find and fix the issues. Not brilliant, often better to find them yourself and sort if possible.

Thanks guys - its going in later today for an inspection. I usually look at most things myself as I always seem to do a better job but I have no idea how to access the rear parcel shelf in the saloon!

I have the most annoying rattle from inside the drivers door pillar, below the seatbelt towards the bottom. It only kicks in at about 60mph but god it's driving me mad!
This may seem crazy but at the trailing edge of the front wheel arch liner it ends in a small flap which can rattle against the bodywork at speed and give all the symptoms of a B pillar rattle. Buy some felt furniture pads from B&Q and stick them between the plastic part of the liner and the body and see if it helps. Worth a try and succeeded in killing the noise on mine. Its a common issue.

I also have this B-pillar rattle - lower speeds over rough roads, very annoying. I have pushed the trim on the B-pillar and it seems loose to me but won't tighten up by just pushing. Will check the flap in front of the wheel too however.

Any of you guys have a squeak from the silver trim above the glovebox? I'm assuming the dash components are fairly common between 159 and Brera?

Sorry if my description wasn't very good - it is the bottom trailing edge of the front wheelarch liner that is extended by about 1 cm to form a little flap which then seems to tap against the end of the sill.

I don't have the car anymore so can't take picture for you

My squeek in that area came from passenger seat. Resolved by dealer for the moment.
mines definitely the silver trim, if I press it it squeaks, so it;s replicable, it only really does it on poor surfaced roads though.

The GTA squeaked like a sod because of the leather continuously rubbing against other bits of rubber, the Brera is completely different, it's mostly silent (except for the road noise) so when there is a squeak it's very evident. :(
